Chef Emmanuelle proudly serves Sonoma and Napa Counties. As a boutique catering company, I have a passion for the success of every event! My specialty is planning functions for intimate parties/dinners whether it be a bridal shower, anniversary, birthday or just a celebration of life. I am a chef that is driven by high quality ingredients derived from local farmers whenever possible. Regardless of size or food restrictions, my culinary team and I aim to craft a menu that pleases the palate of our clients.

All our food is prepared in house, and delivered or finished on site for your event. The Purple Artichoke Chef offers exceptional customer service, beautiful, elegant and delicious food. We can also assist with staff, and equipment rental.

A Bit of History

The Purple Artichoke, (a member of the thistle family), has been cultivated since the time of the Ancient Greeks and Romans. Ancient Greeks and Romans considered artichokes a delicacy and an aphrodisiac. In Ancient Greece, the artichoke was attributed to being effective in securing the birth of boys.

Today, it is considered to be one of the highest producing anti-oxidants among all the vegetables. For centuries and even today, it is considered to be highly medicinal in aiding digestion, strengthening liver function and in reducing cholesterol levels. This noble vegetable is of the oldest foods known to man. My family heritage goes as far back in history; we have survived together.

Meet Chef Emmanuelle

I was born in Malta, a small Mediterranean island off the boot of Sicily, known for its lush blue waters, the filming of “Troy” and Bogart’s “The Maltese Falcon”. Like the artichoke, our history dates back beyond the Roman and Greek empires.

Coming from a family of chefs and people passionate about cooking, I started my training at the young age of 12, side by side in the kitchen with my grandmother, who was a chef as well. My first level of education started with Mediterranean cuisine. From there, I ventured out on my own experimenting with different International and American cuisines.

For the past 30 years, I have spoiled my family and friends preparing various foods. In catering parties and special events, I take great pride in knowing that my dishes are not only delicious, but nutritious. Attending the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco has enabled me to perfect my culinary technique. I am a member of the American Personal Chef Association and am also SafeServ Certified.
